ABSTRACT: My project is a translation of poems selected from A Treasury of Children's Poems and from Walt Disney Lyrics. I have chosen to translate poetry because poetical translation helps me express my most creative faculties. As is generally the case with literary translation, the present project is not a word-for-word translation; it is more concerned with the meaning of the words and with equivalencies that make full sense to young Arabic readers. It is hoped that the poems chosen here will help the target children acquire knowledge about different aspects of life and culture, as well as entertain them. My Arabic translation is introduced by statements of the methodology I adopted and some of the translation problems I encountered while translating the poems.
