ABSTRACT: For my project, I wanted to satisfy my interest for literature and enhance my knowledge of translation; therefore, I decided to translate short stories for my project. I have chosen stories that are quite famous in the west yet are less known for Arabs readers. In addition, I have completed my mission; my supervisor was pleased with the work that I did and she was happy with the results. The three stories that I translated tell stories of different ordinary people who acquainted with insignificant incidents. These stories are: "Mrs. Turner Cutting the Grass," "Various Miracles," " Sailors Lost at sea". My intention behind translation those stories were to increase the knowledge of Arab readers about of no matter how insignificant the person is he she counts for something. I divided my project into sections which is showed in the table of content. Also the introduction includes exploration the translation process, it contains discussion of the methodology that I have followed, as well as, the problems that I have encountered while translating the stories.
